Tarik discovered his passion for intellectual property during his engineering studies in Lausanne and Sophia Antipolis. He chose to complete his postgraduate studies in this field and started his vocational training as patent attorney at BOVARD in 2004.
Initially, Tarik specialised in the field of information and communication technologies. As the son of a watchmaker, he has been interested in mechanical watchmaking since his youth and has since acquired a great deal of experience in this field. Thanks to his language skills, Tarik has been able to handle mandates in German, French or English from the very beginning.
Since 2009 Tarik has been a qualified European, and since 2011 Swiss, patent attorney. He actively contributes his knowledge and experience to the training of young colleagues and has been an active member of both the Swiss and European patent attorney accreditation commissions for several years.
Intellectual property
is an asset of immense value and embodies the vision and values of our
clients. Tarik is particularly passionate about defending these rights.
It became apparent early on that he has a flair for opposition and
nullity proceedings and he regularly defends our client's interest in
proceedings before the European Patent Office as well as the Swiss,
German and French courts. In doing this, Tarik can also rely on his
second degree in law that helps him combine both technical and legal
ways of thinking.
Thanks to his varied background and skill sets, Tarik is able to offer our clients holistic advice spanning over all disciplines of intellectual property, namely , patents, trademarks, designs and copyright.
Since 2013, Tarik has been the Chairman of the Executive Board of BOVARD and since 2019 the Head of all of BOVARD's IP departments.
