Elisabeth holds a PhD in molecular biology from the University of Lausanne (1998). Elisabeth’s studies focused on thyroid hormone receptors, and the transactivation of target genes through their interactions with RXR, co-activators and co-repressors.
She was granted fellowships and completed a post-doctorate at the University of Geneva studying agonists and antagonists of estrogen receptors. Elisabeth is the author/co-author of original research articles in several peer-reviewed journals, including The Journal of Biological Chemistry, Biological Chemistry, Molecular Endocrinology, and Cancer Research.
She worked as a scientist for a start-up developing stable chemokine receptor B lymphocyte cell lines and purification protocols of recombinant proteins. From 2004 to 2008, she was project manager and acquired intellectual property experience as patent manager with AC Immune, a biotech company developing vaccines and humanised antibodies to combat Alzheimer’s disease. In 2008, she joined the IP department of a large pharmaceutical company, Merck Serono, where she specialised in the prosecution of patent portfolios. From 2010 to 2020, she worked in different law firms and passed the European qualifying examination (EQE) in 2019 to become patent attorney.
Elisabeth joined BOVARD in 2020.
With a university background in biochemistry, physics and organic chemistry, Elisabeth quickly acquired expertise in patents in sectors such as watchmaking, vacuum pumps, solar cells and cutting tools.
